Ohh, These smell like they just came out of a bakery and look like it too. Don't be intimidated by their twistedness, they are super easy and delicious. Honestly, they look like a messy knot, so you can have some creative freedoms with this one. Have fun and enjoy your self.

Makes 12 rolls
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 Cup Plant Milk
- 1 1/2 Tsp Yeast
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 75 Grams of Vegan Butter at room temperature
- 3 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour + more for rolling out
- 1/2 Tsp Cardamom
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
Filling
- 4 1/2 Tbsp Vegan Butter
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tsp Cardamom
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
Glaze (Optional)
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Directions
1. Heat milk, butter, and brown sugar in a saucepan until it has all melted. Pour into a separate bowl and let it cool to room temperature.
2. Add yeast to milk mixture and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
3. In a stand mixer, mix flour, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt. Add yeast mixture and mix with a dough hook for five minutes on medium speed. Or knead your dough for 10 minutes. Your dough should be sticky, but together.
4. Put the dough into a bowl and let rise at room temperature for 1 hour or until doubled.
5. Mix filling ingredients in a small bowl till combined.
6. On a floured surface, roll dough into a 12 by 18-inch rectangle. With 18 inches on the bottom.
7. Spread filling over 2/3 of the dough. Fold the empty side over 1/3 of the filling side. Then fold the last filling side over the folded side. You should now have a 6 by 12-inch rectangle.
8. Cut dough into 12 strips with the 12-inch side down. You should have 12 1 by 6-inch rectangles.
9. Take one strip. Cut it in half 3/4 of the way down, leaving 1/4 of it intact. You should have long pants like shape. Twist the legs around several times.
10. Tie your legs in a loose knot. Place knot on top of the uncut portion. Tuck in ends. Don't worry too much about the look. It should just look like a messy knot. As long as it is twisted your good.
11. Repeat with the rest of the strips.
12. Preheat oven to 365°F. I used a baking stone to keep the temperate for constant, but this is optional.
13. Let rise for 40 minutes on 2 baking trays lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. You can sprinkle some granulates sugar on them if you want.
14. Bake for 30-50 minutes. The time will vary according to your oven. Just bake until the bottoms are light brown. Let cool.
15. In a small saucepan combine all glaze ingredients on medium/low heat. Stir occasionally and wait until and the sugar granules have melted. The glaze is optional but recommended.
16. Brush with glaze and serve warm.
17. Enjoy!
