Spiced Fruit Oatmeal

This is a delicious spiced oatmeal recipe that warms the soul and the stomach. This works with many different fruits; a few favorites of mine are pear, apple, and plum. Suggested topping include seeds, nuts, sweetener, tangerine slices, and more fruit. This is super easy and can be modified to fit your desires. This can be made into overnight oats by adding all the ingredients the night before and letting it sit in the fridge.
Serves 1 Time 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Oats or 1/4 cup Hot Cereal
- 1/4 tsp Ground Cardamom
- 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 Plum + 1/2 Apple or 1 Pear or 1 Apple
- 1 cup Water or Plant Milk
Toppings
- Tangerine slices
- Maple Syrup
- Seeds and nuts
- Extra Cinnamon
- Nut Butter
Directions
1. Chop fruit and saute on low-medium with spices and a dash of water until lightly soft, about 5 minutes.
2. Add oats and sweetener (if desired).
3. Add water and mix together.
4. Cover and let cook, stirring occasionally until oats or hot cereal is cooked. About 8 minutes for oats. Add more water if it gets too thick or starts to stick to bottom.
5. Top and enjoy!
